Bosnian Lancers Officer - Prussia 1762
The Albanian jeweller Stephan Serkis recruited some Ukrainian lancers and created the Bosnian lancers regiment with the intent to serve in the Saxon army. In reality this regiment served the Prussian army of Frederick the Great. Up to ten squadrons were formed (1150 between troopers and officers) and in 1773 it became the ninth regiment of the Hussars and was the only one regiment armed with lance. During the Seven Years war the Bosnians were attached to the fifth black Hussar regiment.
